$29.99/core dedicated hosting: a whole
physical core of a Ryzen 9 7950X, no oversell, with 8 GB RAM bundled per core. Tell us your group size for a
recommendation and pick your cores; RAM is auto-sized and included, nothing to tune. Run it always-on, or
ad hoc, metered by the hour and billed only while the world is actually up.
Eco will not talk to Strange Cloud without one, so the server starts in offline mode. It runs and can be joined by address, but it never appears in the in-game server browser and player accounts are not verified against your Eco account. It is free, it takes about a minute, and it has to be yours: the game ties it to your own account, so we are not allowed to issue one for you. You will also need a separate one for each server you run.
Sign in at play.eco/account — use Login with Steam if you bought Eco on Steam.
Find the Server Authentication section and generate a token.
Paste it into USER_TOKEN on this server's Settings tab, then Restart.
The token belongs to your Eco account, not to one server. Revoking or regenerating it at play.eco stops every server using it from listing.
A token that is wrong or expired stops the server starting at all — Eco reports “Strange Cloud authentication with user token failed … 401” in the console and shuts down, rather than falling back to offline mode. Clear the field to get the server back, then paste a fresh token.
Until then the server still works: give people the address and password from the Connect tab and they can join directly. Only the public browser listing is missing.
Auto-sized to your game: 8 GB bundled per core, no RAM to pick and nothing extra to pay.
